Posted in 1 at 4:02 pm by annapn1224

Weddings can be costly. The average wedding cost in America ranges from $25,000.00 to $45,000.00 according to national surveys. In this economy everyone is looking for savings and couples planning a wedding are of no exception. You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to have your fantasy wedding. Here are some tips you can use to save money when planning your big day.

Selecting your date:

Peak wedding season lasts from May through september, that’s the time in which you are more likely to see wedding industry prices escelate. This does not mean you need to change the time of year you want to get married. If you want a summer wedding you can take advantage of lower rates by hosting your wedding on a Friday night or Sunday Afternoon. The same wedding package can cost up to 20% less on a Friday night or Sunday afternoon than a Saturday night wedding.

Another Option is to select certin holiday weekends, such as memorial day weekend and labor day weekend. On certain holiday weekends many resturants and hotels offer special discounts to make up for lost business.

Some Locations May Cost Less:

Hotel ballrooms and  banquet halls are appealing but a good alternative is to consider sites that don’t specialize in weddings, where prices are likely to be lower. Some locations at are beautiful and should be considered include, winery’s, museums, botanical gardens, art galleries, historic sites/estates or yacht clubs.

Have your ceremony and reception in the same venue. You’ll will only have to pay one site fee and you wont need to hire transportation to take you from one place to another.
